Tonaltzintli A.C. (from the Nahuatl: Tonal (soul) tzintli (little) or rising sun, is a non-profit association designed to provide dialogue and intercultural exchange between the US, Canada and Latin America.
The Center's objective is to create an open forum, where Mexican civil associations, institutions and individuals can exchange ideas, tools and perspectives; develop and carry out projects of a philanthropic nature in four main areas: culture; education; community development; and the environment.
Tonaltzintli Educational Program falls under a broad agreement of collaboration with the University of Morelos, whereby students/participants receive University credits for coursework undertaken at Tonaltzintli.

The State University of Morelos

The University Center for Foreign Students, located an elegant off Campus facility, provides coursework in Spanish language, and history and sociology of Mexican and Latin America.

A Master Degree Program in Human Development is scheduled to begin in February, 2002. The program is an open one, combining collaboration with Institutions in the U.S. and several intensive seminars in Mexico. The three areas of specialization are: Psychoterapy, community Work and Managerial Deve-lopment.


Cuernavaca is a world renowned, traditional resort city, located 1 hour south of Mexico City. The city Historic Center contains elegant buildings from the Colonial period and many fine restaurants. Cuernavaca is an excellent point from which to explore the surrounding villages, Colonial convents, spectacular archeological zones as well as Mexico City, with its world-famous Museum of Anthropology, and other artistic and cultural events.
